Huawei & Partner
Together towards 5G
Together with renowned automation companies, the 'Huawei Wireless X Labs' research platform has announced the establishment of the 'Wireless Connected Factory' special interest group. The aim is to promote applications of 5G technologies in industry.
With the Special Interest Group (SIG) 'Wireless Connected Factory', Huawei has brought together companies and organizations from the smart manufacturing sector. These included the following partners: ABB, Efort, Bosch, Beckhoff, Hikrobot, Geely, Kuka and the Chinese Institute of Automation of Shenyang Academy. Schneider Electric was also present.
Together, the partners intend to focus their research activities on four key areas: Cloud-based programmable logic controllers (PLCs), wireless industrial cameras, wireless-controlled automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and industrial wearables.
At the first SIG group meeting, the Chinese Academy of Information and Communication Technology (CAICT) took the lead. After the X Labs initiatives 'Digital Sky' and 'Wireless eHealth', this is the third SIG of Huawei's X Labs.
