Where do companies use artificial intelligence (AI)? What are the benefits of using AI technologies? Answers are provided by the international study "Amplifying Human Potential: Towards Purposeful Artificial Intelligence", the results of which Infosys has now published.

64% of respondents are convinced that the future of their company depends on the large-scale adaptation of AI technology. 53% fear that ethical concerns about AI could put the brakes on its use.
When it comes to the issue of 'job security' for human employees, the companies surveyed give the all-clear: if companies plan to replace activities with AI, 80% of them want to deploy the affected employees in other areas or retrain them. Companies with a lesser connection to AI tend to transfer employees if they are replaced by AI. Companies with a stronger connection to AI tend to retrain. Infosys cites fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) (94%), aerospace and automotive (87%), energy, oil and gas (80%) and parma and life sciences (78%) as the sectors in which most employees are to be kept on and trained.
