The Tuxono series from SchulerControl are embedded Linux systems combined with measurement and control hardware. The open systems combine analogue and digital inputs and outputs with a Linux system in a DIN rail housing in accordance with DIN EN 60715. Using the 'Codesys' software platform, the devices can be upgraded to fully-fledged PLCs with integrated visualization. A free and comprehensive development environment is also available for download. It offers an editor for five languages (AWL, KOP, FBS, AS, ST) including an integrated design tool for web visualizations on tablets, smartphones and PCs as well as support for industrial communication systems such as Modbus TCP. Both models use a Freescale i.MX287 processor with 454 MHz and 128 Mbytes of RAM as well as a dedicated Atmel microcontroller for measurement and control tasks. 'Tuxono S' offers two fast digital inputs for frequency measurement or S0 bus, for example, and six analog inputs (for voltage, resistance, current) as well as three solid-state relay outputs. 'Tuxono L' has five digital inputs, 19 analog inputs and twelve relay outputs. Six of these are solid-state relays. There are also two analog outputs (for voltage, current). RJ45 LAN sockets and USB-A connections are available for communication.
