Context Sensitive Safety Solution

In cooperation with TÜV-Süd, Arendar IT-Security has developed a solution for the safety assessment of machines and systems at runtime. The aim is to automate and monitor compliance with safety requirements during the operation of machines and systems at runtime and to react dynamically to changing environmental conditions.

The challenges lie in the implementation of standards and regulations in machine-readable code, i.e. the development of safety semantics and the implementation of these semantics in control commands that are implemented at machine level. The "Context Sensitive Safety Solution" will be used to demonstrate the added value of combining different data sources.

Are there alternative approaches?
How automated can dynamic safety be?
Who bears the responsibility?
Is an edge device the right place for a rule engine? ...

The "Context Sensitive Safety Solution" project between TÜV-Süd and Arendar IT-Security is a work in progress. As of 06.01.2022, a demonstrator is running at TÜV-Süd in the Smart Factory Lemgo. This will be shown live during the presentation.
The next step is to install an initial "proof of concept" at an industrial customer. It may be possible to present the status quo at the event in September.
