The development of magnetic resonance imaging was an exciting pioneering period for Dr. Markus Vester (60) from Siemens Healthineers in Erlangen. The specialist in high-frequency technology has retained his passion for invention to this day. Most of his 370 patents relate to the transmitter and receiver units in the MR device. High-resolution images in the shortest possible scan times - this is what Vester contributed with his research. Integrating new technologies in an economically sensible way is also one of his research tasks. For this, he was awarded Inventor of the Year in the "Lifetime achievement" category.
