08 - Zebra Technology: Image processing software based on deep learning
Zebra Technologies offers manufacturers the ability to utilize optical character recognition (OCR) with new deep learning OCR software. The software runs on desktop PCs with Windows, Linux or Linux ARM Embedded, Android handheld devices and Zebra smart cameras. Possible applications include reading identification, compliance, security and other markings on vehicle tires, test tube labels and caps, blood bag labels and bill of lading documents for logistics. The tool works on both graphic and central units. Zebra's deep learning-based image processing software uses a so-called convolutional neural network that mimics the human brain. It has been trained with thousands of different image samples, enabling the user - even without expertise in machine vision or deep learning - to create a robust OCR application in just a few simple steps.
