The Secure Cloud Gateways from Deutschmann Automation and MB Connect Line for secure data communication from the fieldbus level to the Internet in the Industry 4.0 environment can be installed in existing systems without any additional effort. The existing configuration of the machine is not affected. Access is via bus systems that allow subsequent integration, for example master-master communication in MPI, Profibus or Modbus systems. According to the manufacturer, the gateways offer effective protection against unauthorized external access to sensitive data at field level and against the infiltration of manipulated program code. The integrated hardware data diode ensures that communication is only possible in one direction - from the data source to the cloud interface. The connection to the cloud is secured via TLS encryption (Transport Layer Security). Security is also achieved via a hardened operating system with secure boot. The gateways can be connected to the internet via options such as Ethernet, mobile communications (LTE, 3G) or WiFi.
