Moxa's EDS-518E switches feature 18 ports (14 plus 4G) in a compact DIN rail form factor. Four combo Gigabit ports with built-in RJ45 or SFP interfaces enable network administrators to meet the increased bandwidth requirements of industrial big data or video-over-IP applications. The switch is certified for intelligent transportation applications, for trackside applications in rail transport, for the oil and gas industry and for factory and process automation. The switch provides redundancy through Moxa's 'Turbo Ring' and 'Turbo Chain' technologies, which support less than 20 ms recovery time for up to 250 switches in the network. In addition, support for RSTP/STP and MSTP redundancy makes the switch compatible with enterprise networks and third-party network structures. The software-based IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) ensures nanosecond time synchronization for packet-based networks. At the same time, TACACS+, SNMPv3, IEEE 802.1x, HTTPS and SSH improve overall network security.
