Softing presents 'PBpro USB', a compact Profibus master interface for PCs that fits into a Profibus connector housing. In the format of a matchbox, it can be stowed away in a notebook bag for mobile use. Thanks to the PC connection via USB Highspeed, which is also used to power the interface, the device can be used as an interface for a wide range of tasks, from network configuration and device parameterization to system maintenance and production data acquisition. The interface is plugged directly into a device in the Profibus target system and thus avoids line-related reflections of the fieldbus signal. In addition to the Windows driver for XP to Windows 10 and various programming examples, the software includes a communication DTM for FDT applications and a Profibus configurator with commissioning function. The interface is software-compatible with its predecessor 'Profiusb'. OPC client applications can be integrated via the optional Profibus OPC server.
