The inductive miniature displacement sensors of the SM34 series from a.b.jödden have a housing diameter of 10 mm, a holder for brackets with a diameter of 8 mm and detect displacements of 5, 10, 15 or 20 mm. The electrical output is also provided by an axial cable connection, and push-pull or M12 connectors are also available. The integrated electronics evaluate the change in inductance caused by the axial displacement of a NiFe metal core. Operating voltages of 5, 12 or 24 V(DC) and the low operating current also enable use in mobile systems. The displacement-proportional, analog output signal of 0 to 10, 0 to 5 or 0 to 4 V(DC) can be processed directly by many evaluation units. A version with a current output of 4 to 20 mA is available in 2-wire technology. The miniature sensors with IP67 protection can be used in extreme environmental conditions such as oil mist, mud, rain and dust, and can withstand shock loads of up to 250 g SRS and vibration loads of up to 20 g rms.
