The new 'Vehicle Computer Compact M8' embedded box PCs from Syslogic have no moving parts, are shock and vibration resistant and are designed for an operating temperature range of -40 to +85 °C. According to the manufacturer, they offer reliable wireless connectivity for automated guided vehicles (AGV) or transportation systems. The housing offers IP40 protection. With the optional WLAN, GPS, GSM and Bluetooth modules, the box PC is suitable as an IoT device in the logistics sector. As standard, the industrial computer has a display port, a CFast socket, three USB and three Ethernet ports as well as serial interfaces (RS232 and RS422/485). On the processor side, Intel Atom processors from the BayTrail or Apollo Lake series are available. The Box PCs also have safety features designed to prevent unplanned field failures. These include a hardware watchdog, which initiates a restart after a power failure, and temperature monitoring. In addition, a coldcap supports the real-time clock (RTC) maintenance-free. Syslogic also optionally integrates a TPM (Trusted Platform Module), which, according to the manufacturer, reliably protects the IoT computers from hacker attacks.
