TE Connectivity has extended the Motorman hybrid connector series for decentralized servo motors and servo drives with a 'shroud' version, which is equipped with a safety interlock for additional safety. There is also a version with a crimped cable for control cabinet applications. The hybrid connectors integrate data, signal and power transmission of locally controlled motors in one rectangular connector. Two fast Ethernet sockets offer all the features of real-time automation control and reduce cabling costs. The current versions of the connectors are designed for use in AC servo motors with a printed circuit board in addition to the original version. They have a metal housing suitable for harsh industrial environments. A less expensive version with a plastic housing is available for less critical applications. The hybrid connector is easy to configure and has diagnostic access behind an easy-to-open side cover so that no cables need to be disconnected. With protection class IP65, it is protected against water and dust and can withstand shock loads of up to 50 g. The operating temperature is between -40 and +85 °C.
