TKD has expanded its portfolio of single-core motor connection cables. The latest additions to the modular system are the 'Kaweflex' series 5178 and 5278 SC (SingleCore). While the '5178 SC' series is available as an unshielded version with black or green-yellow cores, the '5278 SC' series is the shielded version for EMC-compliant applications. The single-core, double-insulated PVC cables are designed in such a way that they can replace multi-core cables in many cases, for example when space in existing drag or cable drag chains and hose packages is limited or minimal bending radii cause problems. With travel speeds of up to 120 m/min, maximum accelerations of 20 m/s², travel distances of up to 25 m and a rating of up to 5 million bending cycles, the highly stranded cables, which are available in various cross-sections, are suitable for highly flexible applications with normal electrical and mechanical requirements. The cables are approved for an operating temperature of 90 °C and have 1 kV UL/CSA approval. The specific 1 kV UL/CSA approval results in approval for direct parallel installation with other cables that also carry an operating voltage of up to 1000 V.
