The Smart Grid Interface Module (SGIM) from Efen can be easily integrated into distribution columns or cable distribution cabinets that are based on a 185 mm busbar system. With its width of 100 mm, it corresponds to the installation width of an NH fuse-switch disconnector size 1-3; a corresponding reserve space is available in most distribution boards. The modular module, which can also be installed under voltage, consists of the installation platform and a plug-in unit. This contains a power supply unit, the CPU and two sockets, which are useful for maintenance work and offer the option of connecting a mains analyzer. Modules for Rogowski coils, for example, can be plugged in to record the current. Pre-assembled Rogowski sensors for three-phase measurement are available to keep installation work to a minimum. Alternatively, current measurement can also be carried out via current transformers. In addition, modules are available for communication via GSM or fiber optics as well as an IO module for further displays such as fuse monitoring. The module records all voltages and currents and uses them to calculate the other relevant measured variables, such as reactive, apparent and active power, energy consumption, power factor, phase angle and mains frequency. As the current in the neutral conductor is also measured, short circuits can also be detected. The values calculated in the CPU can be transferred online to a data server.
