With the CU8210-M001 housing dome from Beckhoff, the USB port of an industrial PC can be routed out of the control cabinet with good protection. This enables a reliable wireless connection of the control computer without having to use an antenna cable with attenuation.
Together with the 'CU8210-D00x' USB 2.0 sticks from the provider for WLAN and 4G mobile communications, this results in a wireless solution for PC-based control technology that can be used worldwide. The housing dome was specially developed for industrial WLAN and mobile radio components and fulfills protection class IP66 when installed. This means that the components inside are fully protected against contact, dust, spray and water jets.
The housing dome can therefore be mounted in the control cabinet wall as well as directly on the machine or in the open field on control cabinets.
Additional safety is provided by the locking mechanism on the inside during switch cabinet installation, so that the enclosure dome cannot be removed from the outside.
The 54 mm × 100 mm × 54 mm (W×H×D) housing dome has a USB 2.0 socket, type A, and is designed for an operating temperature of -40 to +60 °C. Versions with 1, 3 or 5 m USB cables are available to select the dome placement in relation to the industrial PC to suit the respective application.
