
Highly automated driving requires precise and very robust environmental detection of the vehicle. In urban environments, however, the localization of a vehicle is impaired by many influences - such as vegetation or buildings that interfere with the localization signal. The software developed by Naventik detects these sources of error, analyzes them and compensates for them. In addition to processing signals from GPS and other navigation satellites, the software also makes it possible to use other sensor data from the car to determine its location. This enables it to determine a position even if the direct signal from the satellites is disturbed or the satellite constellation is unsuitable for a measurement.
