Incoming orders at Systems amounted to € 1.53 billion. This is a decrease of 7% compared to the previous year. According to Kuka, the reason for this is that the order intake from the sold Aerospace business could not be compensated for. In addition, incoming orders at Systems fluctuate greatly, as they depend on the timing of major orders. By contrast, sales in the Systems division rose by 13.2% and amounted to just under € 1.6 billion. Kuka states that the reason for the significant drop in EBIT is that individual projects and measures to increase profitability in this division had a negative impact on earnings of around € 40 million in the 2017 financial year.
