With the second generation of the ActiveShuttle, Bosch Rexroth is increasing the safety, efficiency and flexibility of autonomous transportation thanks to camera-based 3D obstacle detection. Thanks to the integrated object and personal protection, the mobile robot with 'Advanced Interaction' can move freely around the plant. In addition to the safety laser scanner, stereo depth cameras capture the room in 3D. In addition to high and low obstacles, objects protruding into the path of travel are detected beyond the laser range.
A touchscreen display integrated into the vehicle console enables individual configuration and fast error management directly on the mobile robot. The range of functions of the 'ActiveShuttle Management System (AMS)' has also been expanded as part of the innovations: the software for fleet and job control offers more degrees of freedom, so that complex work sequences can be created in addition to simple transport movements from source to sink.
