The REM switch chip fido5200 and the 'RapID Platform Network Interface' from Innovasic are certified according to the latest version of the Ethercat Conformance Test Tool. In addition to Ethercat, both products also support Profinet IRT, Ethernet/IP with beacon-based DLR and Modbus/TCP on a single hardware configuration. In addition, both solutions have TSN features already integrated into the architecture, enabling users to implement future TSN standards. The Real-Time Ethernet Multi-Protocol (REM) switch can be configured as a compliant Ethercat Slave Controller (ESC) via software drivers, allowing cycle times down to 12.5 µs. The network interface is available as a module or embedded design and supports cycle times of 1 ms. The REM Switch provides eight SyncManager entities, eight FMMU entities and resources for distributed clocks. The Network Interface uses these features to support the Modular Device Profile (MDP). MDP allows the definition of I/O modules to represent the size and type of process data for each application. This allows the Network Interface to be customized to display all data created or processed by an application via Ethercat.
