TWK's TBN58 generation of encoders is certified with E1 approval from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority. The monoturn encoders offer 14 bits in the single-turn range and are completely self-sufficient - two sensors provide position data and speed values in accordance with CANopen Class 2, CIA DSP406 Version 4.0.1. The two sensors 1 and 2 are each connected with a 5-pin M12 connector. 14 bits/revolution correspond to 16,384 steps/revolution or a resolution of 0.022°. The speed value is calculated using a moving average. The 14-bit position value serves as the basis for the calculation. The speed value is determined as a function of the gate time, which can be between 1 ms and 1000 ms. The gate time can be parameterized by the user and can therefore be adjusted depending on the application. The physical unit of the speed signal is digits/gate time. The rotary encoders with a diameter of 58 mm enable various application applications - for example different shaft diameters of 6, 10 or 12 mm, with and without flattening, with clamping and synchro flange, plug and cable versions as electrical connections, housing made of seawater-resistant aluminum (ALMGSi1) or stainless steel (1.4305 or 1.4401) as well as measures for moisture protection. The encoder can be completely encapsulated and thus have protection class IP69K on the housing side.
