Do digital assistants in packaging logistics necessarily have to be highly technical and expensive? Visitors to the Fraunhofer IML stand can test this out using two different assistant systems. The task: to pack small parcels into a large carton in the most space-saving way possible. Two different technologies provide support for this. In the first case, a hologram of the previously scanned package appears to the user exactly where it is to be placed in the box using augmented reality (AR).
