Sumitomo Cyclo Drive - E-Cyclo gearbox series 'ECY':
The 'E-Cyclo' gearbox series ECY from Sumitomo (SHI) Cyclo Drive combines the principles of a voltage shaft gearbox with the technology of a cycloidal gearbox. The devices are available in three sizes, each with three reduction ratios; the smallest 'E-Cyclo' in the series, the 'ECY103', measures 74 mm in outer diameter and 52.5 mm in length. It weighs 0.9 kg and has an extended large hollow shaft diameter of 19 mm. All 'ECY' gearboxes have this enlarged hollow drive shaft diameter as it allows effective use of space between the hollow shaft wall and its cables, shafts, supply lines. These and other media can be easily fed through.
According to the supplier, the integrated bearing allows high output-side loads, offers backlash-free power transmission and high transmission accuracy with maximum rigidity. Compared to a conventional tension shaft gearbox of the same size, the torsional rigidity is approximately twice as high, which enables a more compact unit with a lower transmission error.
Sumitomo offers the compact gearbox series especially for applications such as machine tools, positioners, handling robots and collaborative robots (cobots).
