The CodeMeter ASIC from Wibu-Systems is the smallest version of the 'CodeMeter' protection technology. Manufacturers can solder and install this ASIC, which provides software protection, licensing and security, as a component on their circuit board. According to the manufacturer, it is particularly suitable for small devices or embedded boards; medical and measuring devices, for example, can be equipped with it to save space. The ASIC supports both USB and SPI communication and works at temperatures between -40 and +105 °C. The protective hardware is supplied in a 5 mm × 5 mm VQFN-32 housing.
