The city or region in which someone works also has an influence on their salary: on average, salaries are highest in Düsseldorf across Germany. Here, managers earn around a fifth more than the average. This is followed by Cologne, Munich and Frankfurt am Main, where managers earn 18% and 17% more respectively. The Hanover area is exactly in line with the national average, whereas managers in the region around Dresden, Leipzig and Halle can expect to earn around 17% less.
