Digi International's new version of XBee RF modules is based on Silicon Labs' EM3587 chipset and supports Thread and ZigBee 3.0. XBee and XBee PRO ZigBee modules feature an SPI interface, simplifying integration with embedded microcontrollers. Features such as binding and multicasting allow integration with home automation devices. As the wireless software is isolated, applications can be developed without risk to RF performance or security.
