The electric car ferry planned for Finland builds on the experience gained with the
world's first battery-powered car ferry, which was also technically equipped by Siemens: the 'Ampere Stavanger' (pictured) went into service in Norway in May 2015. Since then, it has traveled a distance equivalent to more than one and a half times the length of the equator on the Norwegian Sognefjord. The 'Ampere Stavanger' consumes 150 kWh per route.
