Medical robots proved to be service robots with great growth potential in 2017: The total sales value in this segment rose to USD 1.9 billion and accounted for 29% of the total sales value of professional service robots in 2017. The most important applications are robot-assisted surgery or therapy and rehabilitation robots that support people with a disability or treat people with the aim of improving their physical or cognitive functions.
