With an external display, the board becomes a real computer. A capacitive 10-finger touch display, such as the Raspberry Pi Shield - LCD touch display, offers a similar experience to a tablet with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and a screen size of 7 inches. No extra drivers are required: What is needed to control the display is already included in the current versions of Raspbian.
