The AP20 position indicator from Siko is suitable for detecting the position of spindle adjustments in machines and transmitting it to the machine control system. In addition to the "Sikoonet5" and CAN interfaces offered, the position indicators of the "AP" series also offer the industrial Ethernet fieldbus interfaces Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Ethercat and Powerlink. The performance characteristics of the position indicator combine the functionality of a multiturn absolute encoder with a position indicator; its dimensions are 48 mm x 88 mm x 61 mm. The option of displaying target and actual position values directly on the adjusting spindle increases usability for the machine operator. This is ensured, among other things, by an inverted backlit display, which ensures that the information displayed is easy to read even in unfavorable lighting conditions. Two-color status LEDs also support intuitive user guidance. In addition to the positioning status (InPos or OutPos), the LEDs also provide information on the direction of rotation required to reach the desired target position. All of the manufacturer's position indicators are designed with a hollow shaft for easy installation. As the hollow shaft of the "AP20" is made of stainless steel, the position indicator in combination with protection class IP65 is also suitable for applications in the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
