Euchner is expanding its range of transponder-coded safety switches to include a version with an electro-holding magnet and integrated evaluation electronics. According to the manufacturer, the new CEM-C40 is used in applications where guard locking is required for process protection. The electric holding magnet achieves a locking force of 600 N and is designed to prevent safety devices from being opened unintentionally. The safety switch is equipped with a holding force adjustment. This can be individually adjusted in three stages and prevents a safety gate from opening unintentionally when guard locking is not active. The electrical connection is made via plug connectors. For larger systems with several safety gates to be monitored, up to 20 safety switches can be connected in series.
