The S-450 and S450µ SD memory card models from Swissbit are based on SLC flash technology and a system and firmware architecture with functions to maximize data retention and security. Thanks to intelligent firmware algorithms, such as intelligent read-disturb management and the autonomous, performance-neutral background process 'Auto Refresh', data retention is up to 100 times higher than with conventional solutions, according to the manufacturer. In the event of an unforeseen power failure, the firmware prevents data loss by restoring data using a transaction log. The memory cards are suitable for applications that need to write large amounts of data to small removable media and store it for long periods of time - for example as a system partition of embedded boards, for data acquisition in remote areas or as an intermediate buffer for data transmission. The SD cards comply with UHS-I bus mode (class 10) and achieve sequential data rates of up to 90 MByte/s for read access and 75 MByte/s for write access. According to the manufacturer, they function in both commercial (0 °C to +70 °C) and industrial temperature ranges (-40 °C to +85 °C) as well as in harsh environmental conditions.
