In Germany, the number of electric cars has increased to 141,690 with over 67,500 new registrations. This corresponds to 8th place worldwide in terms of the number of existing vehicles and 4th place in terms of new registrations. However, the growth momentum is comparatively low. This is because only around 13,000 more vehicles were newly registered in 2018 than in 2017, compared to around 29,300 more in 2016.
