JVL offers closed-loop stepper motor technology for the NEMA34 integrated stepper motor series from 3 to 12 Nm. According to the company, closed-loop integrated stepper motors offer higher torque, faster acceleration, torque control mode and quieter operation than conventional stepper motor systems. This is achieved with higher efficiency and less heating of the motor, as the motor phase current is regulated according to actual demand. The closed-loop steppers behave like the supplier's integrated servomotors. The closed-loop control system compensates for step angle errors during movement and within a step. If the load becomes too high, the speed is reduced so that the position error always remains within two steps.
