E+E Elektronik has equipped the EE211 measuring transducer with a heated sensor, as persistently high relative humidity (RH) can impair the long-term stability and accuracy of humidity sensors. The transmitter is designed for precise humidity and temperature measurement under continuous high humidity or condensation conditions. To eliminate the negative influences of permanent high humidity on the sensor element, the sensor head of the humidity sensor is continuously heated. The permanent excess temperature prevents the sensor from condensing. Condensation-related dirt deposits or corrosion of the sensor are prevented. A special "sensor coating" additionally protects the active sensor surface from contamination and corrosive influences. The sensor calculates the dew point temperature based on the humidity and temperature values measured by the humidity sensor. A separate, replaceable temperature sensor also measures the ambient temperature. The device then calculates the exact relative humidity and other measured variables such as absolute humidity, mixing ratio, wet bulb temperature or specific enthalpy from the dew point temperature and ambient temperature.
