Bogen has implemented a new, patented measuring principle for absolute measurement with the Always Absolute magnetic measuring head and the associated scale. This measuring solution provides a direct indication of the actual position and is insensitive to contamination. The scale can be adapted to any length and diameter. Resolutions of up to 1 µm are possible. Users can also carry out absolute measurements over long measuring distances of up to 5 m. Compared to vernier solutions, there are no geometry restrictions to consider and calibration in the installed state is not necessary. In contrast to pseurdorandom solutions, the measuring head can be used both linearly and rotationally.
