The Smart Camera weQube from Wenglor has been expanded to include font and character recognition (OCR) in addition to the code reading and image processing function. For special applications, the three combinable function modules are also available in a version with a C-mount thread connection. All model variants also feature the standard Profinet and Ethernet/IP protocols as standard, which can be switched as required. The Smart Camera is equipped with autofocus or C-mount thread connection, two different image chips, three freely selectable light types and several communication interfaces. The housing with C-mount thread connection is compatible with all commercially available C-mount camera lenses. In this design, the camera complies with protection class IP67, and a specially developed protective tube prevents the lens from moving mechanically. The 'weQubeOCR' character recognition function reads the predefined OCR-A and OCR-B fonts over several lines in a single reading process. A teach-in function also offers the option of teaching in new fonts. For use in hygienically sensitive industrial areas, a stainless steel protective housing is available that meets the requirements of protection class IP69K.
