With 'UMB800', Pepperl+Fuchs has launched a hygienically encapsulated full stainless steel ultrasonic sensor whose housing is made entirely of V4A stainless steel. The surface roughness of its housing of less than 0.8 µm minimizes the risk of microbial contamination. Its outer skin is gap-free and hermetically sealed. The sensors can withstand both steam jet treatment and aggressive cleaning agents, have IP68/IP69K protection and are Ecolab-certified. With a diameter of 18 mm and a length of 55 mm, the blind zone is only 70 mm in size and the range is 800 mm. The sensor complies with the guidelines of the European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) and all materials used are FDA-compliant. The certificates also apply to the specially developed hygienic mounting bracket; installation is possible without tools. The sensor can also withstand strong temperature fluctuations and can work at a continuous operating temperature of up to +85 °C.
