12 Sensor system for optimized parking space utilization from ParkHere
© ParkHere
ParkHere offers an energy self-sufficient system that could improve parking space utilization in cities. Ultra-thin sensors are attached to the parking spaces. They register when a car enters or leaves the parking space. The elastic deformation of the sensors generates an electrical voltage that transmits the occupancy status to a central database via a mobile radio module. From there, map manufacturers and navigation service providers can obtain the data and integrate it into their systems. Drivers are guided directly to the nearest available parking space. The system thus makes an active contribution to reducing traffic, making unnecessary detours in the search a thing of the past.
