With the new program version of the HMI and SCADA system Vbase, Visam is introducing the use of function blocks. According to the manufacturer, a consumption meter, for example, is integrated within a short time and is then available project-wide with over 70 pre-calculated values. The software is supplied ex works with 40 function blocks and includes modules for OEE key figures, maintenance and operating hours counters, counter statistics and timers. A reduction in project planning effort can be achieved through the multiple use of process screens. For this purpose, Vbase 11 implements indexed addressing, in which a process screen can access different variables and map multiple scenarios using an offset address, depending on the call. Other new features simplify the creation of daily, monthly and yearly timers as well as the quick display of multiple ratio values in the form of pie, ring or bar charts. An additional input option for the end user is the new voice control. The voice commands and the actions to be executed can be freely selected during project planning and called up at runtime. The update is free of charge for all existing customers.
