Release for myImpact Configuration Studio from Matrix Vision
© Matrix Vision

Matrix Vision has released the mvImpact Configuration Studio - mvImpact-CS for short - in version 2.1; it is now also available as a PC version. Until now, users of the 'mvBlueGemini' smart camera were unable to use 'mvImpact-CS' to quickly and visually implement complete inspection tasks without any programming or image processing knowledge. With the PC version, inspections based on PC and GigE Vision and USB3 Vision-compatible industrial cameras can now also be created intuitively using wizards. This makes it easy for this user group to get started with industrial image processing. In addition, three functions have been added to the 'Measure object' tool. Firstly, the distance measurement between two lines has been optimized so that the click point for selecting the second line serves as a reference point for the measurement, which means that the location of the measurement is clearly defined if the lines are not exactly parallel. Secondly, the intersection of two lines can be used as the starting point for distance measurement. And thirdly, the edges of the image can be used as starting points for X and Y measurements. Two further expert tools are also included in the release: While the 'Filter image' tool can be used to optimize image quality, for example in less than optimal lighting conditions, the 'Check blobs' tool allows the user to detect objects in the image, count objects and check the shape and other properties of objects.
