The Masterpact MTZ from Schneider Electric is a circuit-breaker that can withstand harsh environments, electromagnetic interference and extreme temperatures. The new generation has the same size, connection technology, housing dimensions and fixing points as its predecessor, the Masterpact NT/NW. The appearance and design have undergone slight changes: For example, the spring-loaded lever has a more ergonomic design. In addition, the switch-on and switch-off coils have been improved and equipped with a diagnostic and communication function. Improved connection technology increases the mechanical strength of the switch. The operating and bearing temperatures have been revised, and the mechanical and electrical optimizations ensure that the circuit-breaker is more robust. The device is certified for accuracy class 1. In addition, the contacting of the entire electrical connection technology between the protection device and the associated components has been revised: The measuring and protection circuits now consist of gold wire connections. The plug contacts are thus decoupled from each other and cannot rub against each other even under high mechanical stresses such as oscillations and vibrations.
The circuit-breaker operates between -55 and +85 °C. Three sizes are available.
