With the 3.8 release, the EyeVision software will now also support deep learning, so that it will no longer be necessary to formally specify all the information that an inspection program requires via the computer. The extended components of the software can also solve complex recognition tasks more easily thanks to deep learning, as it learns through experience and understands the world in relation to a hierarchy of concepts. By gathering knowledge from experience, inspection concepts can be developed and expanded. The software's deep learning recognition tools can be used on both embedded systems and smart cameras, as the software's standard tools are also available for standard ARM environments. The trained networks can therefore also be used on these platforms. New modules have been developed specifically for deep learning. The optional plug-ins simplify the use of deep learning for the user with just a few mouse clicks. For certain task classes, there are pre-configured networks that save the user from having to program a neural network. These include OCR recognition, but also complex image recognition, as required in the field of thermography or 3D evaluation.
