Flir Systems has the Firefly camera family for machine vision tasks in its range. It combines the most important functions of industrial cameras with deep learning capabilities. An 'Intel Movidius Myriad 2 VPU' (Visual Processing Unit) is integrated in order to use a trained neural network directly via the camera for inferences at the network edge. This allows the same camera to be used as a free-standing inspection system or as an object classifier. The camera is designed for image analysis professionals who want to use deep learning for more accurate decisions and faster, easier system development. The camera is particularly suitable for embedded systems and mobile devices. Developers can load their trained neural networks directly onto the camera's integrated VPU.
