Kontron is partnering with AI chip manufacturer Hailo to offer next-generation AI edge inferencing solutions. The Hailo-8 AI processor with a performance of 26 tera operations per second (TOPS) at a typical power consumption of less than 2.5 watts enables edge devices to achieve performance previously only possible in the cloud.
Kontron's Arm-based 2.5-inch SBC pITX-iMX8M-AI-H8 and the X86-based box PC KBox A-150-WKL-AI-H8 with a range of Intel Core i processors for X86-based applications are compact, fanless edge computing platforms that seamlessly integrate the Hailo-8 AI accelerator. In addition to pre-installed drivers and BSP, the complete software toolchain is available on the Hailo Developer Zone website. The Hailo Developer Zone includes numerous pre-trained neural networks, a bit-accurate simulator and performance tool, the Hailo Dataflow Compiler and the Hailo Application Toolkit and enables the implementation of AI solutions.
