With the LiveDrive LDD 1800 series, Genesis Robotics & Motion Technologies presents a direct drive solution for robots and precision machines in the food, packaging, pharmaceutical and electronics industries. By eliminating gearboxes, belts and lubrication, the actuators simplify the drive train. The drive was integrated into the Delta robot 'Wyzo Sidebot', a Demaurex invention. A 'LiveDrive' actuator 'LDD 1800' is less than half the length of a typical servo gearbox drivetrain. The washable IP67 housing with smooth surfaces and minimal collection points simplifies cleaning. Since no gearbox is required, there is no risk of oil leaks or contamination. The direct drive technology also eliminates backlash and improves system rigidity, according to the manufacturer.
The direct drives are available in various configurations and power options. The standard models include four sizes and various voltage levels.
