Smart power supply units with Ethercat connection

Puls is expanding the 'Dimension' product family with three DIN rail power supply units with 240 W or 480 W output power and integrated Ethercat interface.

The Ethercat interface enables users to save time configuring and remotely controlling Puls power supply units and provides access to a wide range of measured values that can be used to monitor both power supply units and systems. By accessing data on the input and output side (including voltage and current, for example), system manufacturers and operators can optimize their machines. An external gateway for connection to Ethercat controllers is not necessary. The application data is available in real time in the controller. In systems with dynamic power requirements, for example, the Ethercat controller can control the processes in an energy-optimized manner based on the feedback from the power supply unit. The data enables continuous monitoring of the system status so that preventive maintenance can also be carried out by the power supply section of the system.
