IT Partnership in the Energy Market
CGI and Schneider Electric cooperate
CGI and Schneider Electric are expanding their collaboration in the DACH region. The aim is to support energy suppliers with grid modernization, digitalization and regulatory requirements. The focus is on ADMS-, GIS- and AI-based solutions.
CGI and Schneider Electric are expanding their strategic partnership in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. According to the press release, energy suppliers are to be supported with integrated solutions for grid operation, grid planning and IT integration.
Schneider Electric supplies systems for network operation and planning, including Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). CGI handles software implementation, system integration and supports utilities as a managed services partner.
This is due to the expansion of renewable energies, the digitalization of grids and increasing regulatory requirements. Both companies also point to the growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the energy sector, for example to optimize processes, reduce costs and increase efficiency.
CGI and Schneider Electric are also working together in the Digitopia Business Hub of the European industry association Eurelectric. This is where energy suppliers and technology companies exchange information on digital applications. AI is one of the key topics for 2026, including in connection with decarbonization and electrification.
"We have been working in various roles for large energy companies for over 30 years. Together with Schneider Electric, we are now developing an innovative offering for the German-speaking energy market that combines technological excellence with in-depth industry knowledge," explains Dirk Schäfer, Vice President Energy & Utilities Germany at CGI.
