On February 9th, the Plagiarius campaign awarded its eponymous defamation prize to manufacturers or retailers of counterfeit products. In addition to consumer goods, industrial components are also frequently among the counterfeit products - as was the case this year.

The 'Royal' bathroom accessory series from Taiwanese company Imannuel Industrial has also fallen victim to counterfeiters. The counterfeits were sold by a German online retailer via amazon.de. Despite minimal design differences in two of the accessories, the overall impression of the series is identical. The materials of the counterfeit on the right are cheap and the application of the rhinestones is sloppy. The counterfeits have since been withdrawn from the market.
