After a look at automation in Germany, let's take a look at the global market, for which reliable figures are only available with a delay of up to two years due to the complex data collection process: The figures calculated by the ZVEI show that the global automation market grew to €493 billion in 2015. In 2014, it was still at 435 billion euros. The global market for automation technology has therefore stabilized at a high level. In 2015, the USA increased production by 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous year to 10.9%. Its share of applications also increased slightly to 12.1%.

China's share of global production has grown again. In 2015 by almost 3.1 points to 45.8%. The market in China has risen to a 42.2% share of the global market.

The German share of production fell by 0.9 points to 7.9% in 2015. Germany remains in third place among both the world's largest users and producers of automation. The high surplus of production over applications remains unchanged.
