ABB - 4th quarter and full year 2017Stable in the 'transition year'
ABB has announced its figures for 2017: Stable order intake and a slight increase in sales characterize the Group's 'transition year'.

... shows only a "slightly red" zero for incoming orders. Basic orders (orders under USD 15 million) rose by 5%, which ultimately helped to cushion the effect of the decline in major orders. The latter contributed 8.5% to total incoming orders, compared to 13.5% in the previous year. The order backlog amounted to USD 22.4 billion at the end of December 2017 and was 4% (2% in US dollars) lower than in the previous year. Finally, sales increased by 1% to USD 34.3 billion. The positive contributions from the 'Electrification Products' division and the 'Robotics and Drives' division more than offset the declines in the 'Industrial Automation' and 'Power Grids' divisions.
